FAQ

Questions stitchers ask us.

Do I need an account?

No. Direct photo conversion needs no account at all. You only need one if you want to buy AI credits, so they can be tied to you across devices.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

For direct conversion, no — the image is read and processed entirely in your browser. If you choose an AI redraw or text-to-pattern feature, the image or prompt is sent to the AI provider to generate the result, and deleted after processing.

How accurate are the floss colours?

We match against 454 floss shades using Delta-E distance in CIELAB, which reflects how humans perceive colour difference. Screen colours still vary, so always check a key against real skeins for critical pieces.

What are "confetti stitches"?

Single, isolated stitches of one colour surrounded by another. They're slow and fiddly to work. The smoothing slider merges them into neighbouring colours; drag it up until the confetti count is acceptable.

What's in the exported PDF?

A paged symbol chart with overlap guides and page map, a colour key with symbols, floss codes and names, per-colour stitch counts and skein estimates, and finished size on 11/14/16/18-count Aida. You also get a PNG preview.

Can I sell what I make?

Yes. You keep full commercial rights to your patterns and source photos. Sell finished pieces, sell pattern kits, teach with them — no licence fees.

Which AI models do you use?

AI redraw and text-to-pattern currently use Nano Banana 2 and GPT Image 2. You pick the model per generation; both are billed in credits.

Do credits expire?

No. Credits stay in your account until you use them.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, though a larger screen makes adjusting the chart easier. Exports are the same on every device.
